Yesterday, I read this announcement to our Redemption Hill Church family:

My wife, Kathy, has served as children’s director in 4 churches for the past 40 years. The last few months she has felt led to re-focus in ministry. Recently, GOD placed it on her heart that now was the right time to make that move.

Last August, GOD in His providence led Austin and Alicia Dovin to the church. We have come to love them and sense GOD’s hand upon their lives. After prayer and conversation, Austin has accepted our invitation to join the church staff part-time as Pastor of Family Discipleship, with the focus on disciplining children and their families.

For the months of June and July, Kathy will work with Austin to equip him for the ministry position. Kathy’s last day will be July 31.

According to church polity, the church family only votes on full-time pastoral staff positions. Since Austin is going to be part-time, a church vote is not required.

Please pray for Kathy as she transitions to new areas of ministry and pray for Austin as he assumes his new leadership position.
