Nicey Murphy State Missions Offering
Every September our church joins hundreds of churches across Colorado to observe the Nicey Murphy State Missions Offering. This offering is named after the first person to serve as Women’s Missionary Union Executive Secretary for Colorado. She traveled across the state, seeking to mobilize Christians and churches to respond to the call to missions and also to be on mission. On April 1, 1975, leaders recognized her as a person who exemplified a life dedicated to missions and so created the Nicey Murphy Offering for State Missions.
The theme of this year’s offering is “His Purpose, Our Mission.” Matthew 28: 19-20 declare,“Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Your generosity will allow these contributions to be used to fund Disaster Relief efforts, church planting, community outreach, resort and leisure ministries, inner city ministries, and so much more.
Offering envelopes have been placed in the “pocket” behind most seats throughout the month of September. Let me encourage you to give to help us get the good news of the gospel out in Colorado.
