Times of crises provide churches with remarkable opportunities to reach people with the good news of the gospel. I read an article recently by David Roach titled “Coronavirus Searches Lead Millions to Hear About JESUS.” COVID-19 and the political upheaval in our country have created significant stress and fear in people’s lives. A time of crisis influences people to a time of searching and questioning. Michelle Diedrich with Global Media Outreach recently stated, “We are seeing millions of people open to talking about faith in the face of fear.” One recent 17-year-old visitor to the Billy Graham Association’s website told a chat volunteer, “I’m not really a religious person, but I don’t know who else to turn to but GOD.” Forty-five minutes later, the volunteer led him to faith in JESUS.

As followers of JESUS, it is imperative for you and me to “seize the moment,” and recognize this “golden opportunity” to share the gospel and also invite people to view our public worship services online or to attend public worship. People are fearful, and they are looking for answers. A woman by the name of Grace talked with a chat counselor at Global Media Outreach. She said, “Please help me not to worry about everything. What’s happening right now is very confusing.” The counselor shared the gospel with her, and led her to faith in JESUS.

In the midst of pervading pessimism, the light of the gospel provides the means of authentic hope and peace through a personal relationship with JESUS via repentance and faith. I wholeheartedly believe JESUS wants to use us right now in this time of crisis to make a difference for time and eternity. I invite you to join me in praying, “LORD GOD, in this time of national crisis, when people are stressed and fearful and are open to talking about faith, please use me to be Your light to those who are not Christians in this very dark season in our nation’s history.”

So, invite people to join us for live stream worship at rhccs.org or our RHC app.! Invite people to attend public worship on Sunday mornings! Share the gospel and invite people to make a first-time commitment to JESUS CHRIST!

I am reminded of the quote, “If not us, who? If not now, when?” Let’s pray for opportunities to share the good news. Let’s “seize this moment” GOD has given us!
