Memorial Day 2018

For the past 63+ years, our church family has been blessed by the men and women and their families who have served in the military.  Our church and our city are so blessed to have Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base, the Air Force Academy, and NORAD in the Colorado Springs community.  These men and women are stationed here for a varying period of time, and then leave us for their next military assignment.  We come to love and appreciate each family, thanking GOD for their service to our country AND their ministry in our church family.  Although so many have left us for the next assignment, we continue to praise GOD for the memories we enjoy!  And we miss them all!

On this Memorial Day weekend, I join so many others in thanking GOD for the men and women who have served in the US military, as well as those who currently serve.  We also thank GOD for those men and women who gave their lives fearlessly defending the freedoms we enjoy.  I am reminded of the words of President Harry S. Truman:  "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid.  They have earned our undying gratitude.  America will never forget their sacrifices."

On this Memorial Day weekend, take the time to view this moving tribute to those who gave their lives to defend the freedoms we enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOcl17HIa7c
