LOTTIE MOON 2019
We have launched our annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions on December 1. Our churchwide goal is $25,000.00. To date, our church family has given $12,838.00. We need $12,162.00 to reach our goal.
JESUS declared in Luke 24: 46-47:
Thus it is written, that the CHRIST should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead,
And that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
We have a “great commission” from JESUS to take the gospel to the nations. How can we fulfill the great commission? First, we share the gospel in our “Jerusalem” – Colorado Springs. Second, we give generously to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions in order to support financially those missionaries who feel called to go overseas to share the gospel.
One such person is Nick Moore. Nick’s mother was my daughter LeeAnn’s preschool teacher at Rose Hill Christian School in Ashland, Kentucky. Nick, his wife Kyndra, and their 7 children have sensed GOD’s call to Zimbabwe in Africa.
One hundred percent of the Lottie Moon offering goes to support missionaries like the Moores. Your contributions provide both for their family and their ministry. Nick Moore said this about the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions:
"It's everything -- from the car we drive, to the house we live in, to the salary we make, our insurance," said Moore, who along with his wife Kyndra and their seven children returned to Kentucky in June and will return to Zimbabwe in January. "We've had at least three sets of stitches, a couple of broken arms, a concussion -- numerous trips to the hospitals.” The Lottie Moon offering also funds their ministry. Nick Moore shared, “We’re in a development ministry project right now (with our people group). But we are in the very early stages….We’re having to put a lot into the project (financially) and a lot into the ministry.”
Your generous gift to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions makes an impact around the world in supporting over 3,600 missionary families. Because of the significance of this offering, Kathy and I annually make this gift/donation to “Lottie Moon” the most expensive gift we give at Christmas. It is not only a gift; it is also a spiritual investment that literally is an act of obedience to fulfill the great commission.
Let’s pray for and give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. Let’s pray we exceed our $25,000 goal!
