Summer camps are such spiritual difference-makers in the lives of children and students. They afford the opportunity for young people to “get away” from the “clutter” of life and enjoy being together with peers and, most importantly, attend worship services and have the opportunity to “hear” GOD speak into their lives. Every year lives are changed and significantly impacted from a spiritual perspective. They are literally challenged to live out Romans 12: 1-2:

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of GOD, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to GOD, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of GOD, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Due to the corona virus crisis, however, the summer camp ministries across the country have been significantly impacted.

Our students were scheduled to attend a summer camp in Florida, but, at the last minute, the event was cancelled. Our children were scheduled to attend Ponderosa Camp in June, but it was postponed.

I am grateful to report that our youth will be attending student camp at Ponderosa this year. As a matter of fact, they are leaving today (Monday). So please join with me in praying for our leaders and students as they attend camp this week.

I am also grateful to report that children’s camp was rescheduled for Sunday, July 26 to Wednesday, July 29. Likewise, pray for our leaders and children as they attend camp.

The Jimmy Wilhelm Camp Fund provides the opportunity for our children and students to go to camp. The cost of attending camp can be financially challenging for parents. This fund helps subsidize our children and youth. So, when you give to the Jimmy Wilhelm Camp Fund, you are literally making a spiritual investment in the lives of children/youth. Let’s give generosy and joyfully!

Pastor Mike
