Not literally. Spiritually speaking. Just what does it mean?

Let's turn to the Bible for the answer. GOD's Word uses this phrase in various references.

I Corinthians 16:9 declares, "“For a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.”

II Corinthians 2:12 states, When I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, even though a door was opened for me in the Lord.”

Colossians 4:3 says, At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison.”

Revelation 3:8 reveals, “I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut.”

From a Biblical perspective, the phrase "open door" indicates an opportunity. More specifically, these verses reference the right timing to share the good news of the gospel.

The Corona virus pandemic is indeed an "open door" to share the good news of the gospel. One person stated, "Every crisis in our world is an open door to show GOD's love. While the current environment around the nation is one of fear, GOD is in control. Now, more than ever, is an opportunity (AN OPEN DOOR) for the Church to outshine the darkness and serve people in pain."

As the people of GOD, let us pray for "open doors" to be a positive witness ("THE LIGHT") and to share the gospel with those who live in spiritual darkness.
