A Tribute to Ron Wilhelm

On behalf of our church family, I extend our love, sympathy and prayer support to the family of Ron Wilhelm, who "went home to be with the LORD" this past Saturday, June 20, one day before his 84th birthday.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella, who went to heaven on June 30, 2004.

Ron's celebration of life service will be held at Circle Drive on Thursday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home.

Ron moved his membership from Calvary Baptist Church in Rapid City, South Dakota on October 24, 1966.  In 1980, he moved to the Woodland Park area.  He eventually moved back to Colorado Springs and joined membership again on September 3, 1995.  Since that date, Ron has been a faithful member of the church, attending worship services, participating in activities, and maintaining a strong testimony for our LORD.

Ron served his country in the military for 22 years, and also completed 38 years of civil service.  He had a special place in his heart for military families, and made a special donation every December to be given away to selected persons.  This past December Ron wrote a check for $10,000, and asked the church to distribute the money to military families at Christmas.  Ron had such a generous heart.

I praise GOD for the testimony of Ron Wilhelm's life.  If you would like to  make a donation in Ron's memory, please make it to the Jimmy Wilhelm Student Camp fund.

Please continue to pray for Ron's family in the days ahead.
