On behalf of our church family, I extend our love, sympathy, and prayer support to Unsu Robertson in the “home going” of her husband Jim. He passed away on January 2 at the age of 69. Although Jim has dealt with a variety of health challenges through the years, his passing was totally unexpected. We know, however, that we all have an appointment with death - Hebrews 9:27.

Jim was such a wonderful friend to me personally. I came to really know Jim when he accompanied me and our mission team to Romania to work with Pastor Ovidu Patrick. He possessed a servant’s heart and and a genuine love for the Romanian people. He loved being on mission. Through the years, he had hoped to make one final trip to Romania.

Jim joined membership with our church on November 5, 2000. At that time, our church allowed a Korean congregation to use our chapel at our old 801 North Circle campus. It worked out well for he and his wife, Unsu. While she attended Korean worship, Jim came to our worship service. Jim was a huge supporter of our church’s vision to relocate, and he looked forward to the construction and completion of our new campus. He was such an encourager AND an encouragement to us all!

Jim was devoted to his family. Jim and Unsu loved their son, Jimmy, who passed away tragically 5 years ago. GOD gave them an extra measure of His grace during that heartbreaking season. Together, they have loved GOD and each other through the years.

Please remember Unsu in prayer. Having experienced the death of both her son and now her husband, her heart is broken. Please pray for GOD’s comfort and grace in her life. At this time, she is not planning a celebration of life service.
