A Tribute to Huitt Barfoot

On behalf of our church family at Redemption Hill, I want to extend my love, sympathy and prayer support to Cerbie Barfoot and her family in the passing of her husband of 34 years, Huitt.  He was 93 years old.

Huitt was born March 12, 1924 in Cullman County, Alabama, the 9th of 10 children.  When he was young, his parents moved to New Madrid, Missouri, where they farmed.  After high school, Huitt went on to earn his bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in preparation for a future in education.  For many years, Huitt served as assistant superintendent and also superintendent of various public school systems.  In his later years, he served as an employee of Evergreen Funeral Home.

Huitt and Cerbie joined our church family on March 10, 1985, moving their membership from the First Baptist Church of Warsaw, Missouri.   They faithfully attended until Huitt's health began failing several years ago.

Huitt Barfoot's celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 12 at Evergreen Funeral Home at the corner of Union and Fountain Boulevards.  Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am.

Please be sure to remember Cerbie Barfoot and her family in prayer!
