A Tribute to Floyd Orfield
On behalf of our church family, I extend my love, sympathy, and prayer support to Jo Ann Orfield and her family in the "homegoing" of her husband, Floyd. He passed away on Friday, December 30.
Floyd and Jo Ann were married on May 20, 1977, and have enjoyed 39 years together as husband and wife. Jo Ann had previously joined Circle Drive on April 19, 1964. Floyd and her attended the Young at Heart Bible Study class at Circle for years.
Floyd was quite an accomplished musician, who possessed a great love for music, and enjoyed playing a variety of musical instruments through the years. Floyd possessed excellent social skills - enjoying conversations with his family and friends.
In my visits with Floyd in his home, at the hospital, and in the rehab facility, I enjoyed my time with him, and found him to be a kind and caring person. But, as a result of several recent health challenges, his heath began to decline, and he eventually transitioned to Hospice Care. In my last visit with Floyd on Wednesday, December 21 at the Pikes Peak Care Center, I knew the time of his passing was approaching - and so did he. I prayed for him before I left the room.
Floyd Orfield's celebration of life service will be held at Blunt Mortuary on Monday, January 9 at 1:00 pm. Larry Akers, Floyd and Jo Ann's Bible Study teacher, will share a eulogy at the service. Please continue to pray for Jo Ann and her family.
