A Tribute to Dr. Jerry Nostrand

On behalf of our church family called Circle Drive, I extend our love, sympathy and prayer support to Dolores Nostrand and her family in the passing of her husband of 65+ years, Dr. Jerry Nostrand.  He went "home to be with the LORD" yesterday, January 1, 2018.

Jerry was born in New York City on February 29, 1932.  So GOD blessed him with 85 years to be a blessing to everyone who knew him.

Jerry and Dolores joined membership at Circle Drive Baptist Church on July 16, 1962.  Yes, they have been faithful members for over 55 years.  We absolutely cannot measure the impact of Jerry's life and ministry through these years.  Jerry and Dolores have been a remarkable team for CHRIST in our church's ministry.  Jerry served as director of New Life Counseling Center, served on church staff in various capacities, led music, taught Sunday School, gave generously to support the ministry of the church, taught Discipleship Training classes, served on the Finance Ministry Team, served on the Nominating Ministry Team,  represented our church at associational, state convention, and denominational annual meetings, served as an encourager of all, and so much much much more.

The greatest trait of a Christian leader is humility.  Dr. Jerry Nostrand possessed this gift.  His spirit of humility permeated his life and ministry - in every thing that he did.  Jerry was one of the most godly and CHRIST-like Christians I have met in my 35 year pastoral ministry.  While I grieve his passing, I celebrate his "homegoing."  Our loss is heaven's "gain."

You are invited to attend Dr. Jerry Nostrand's celebration of life service, which will be held this Sunday, January 7, at 2:00 pm in the worship center at Circle Drive.  A reception will be held afterwards.

Be sure to remember Dolores, Belinda, Randy and their family in prayer!
