A Tribute to Donna Koop
On behalf of our church family at Circle Drive, I extend our love, sympathy, and prayer support to the family of Donna Koop, who passed away to heaven on Wednesday, January 31. Her celebration of life service was held today at the Evergreen Funeral Home with Dr. Lewis Adkison presiding.
Donna was born May 2, 1931, in Fountain, Colorado to Herb Whalen and Eloise Niles. She was a bookkeeper and lifelong resident of Fountain/Colorado Springs. She is survived by a son, Scott Koop; two daughters, Elaine MacKay, and Elizabeth Gregory; a brother, Niles Whalen; a sister, Romaine Collier; and her 4 grandchildren.
Donna joined membership at Circle Drive on March 4, 1984, and has faithfully attended through the years. Even when her health required her to have an oxygen tank, she carried it to church with her! After worship services on many occasions, I would see Donna sitting on a chair outside the worship center. She would tell me, "I'm just catching my breath so I can make it to my car." I praise GOD for her faithfulness to the LORD and His church! Prior to coming to Circle Drive, Donna served at First Baptist Church, Security/Widefield, and was the last surviving charter member.
Please be sure to pray for Donna's family in the days ahead.
