A Tribute to David Raque

I join with our church family today in celebrating the life of David Raque, who was called home to heaven on Tuesday, July 11.  David was 50 years old.  He was born March 18, 1967, the son of Ann and Herman Raque.

David's first job was as a cafeteria worker at Wasson High School, located at the intersection of Circle Drive and Constitution Avenue.  He then worked for the next 30 years for the United States Postal System.

David has attended Circle Drive for many years, and made a decision on July 6, 1986 when he was in the 12th grade. In June of 2007, he realized the faith decision he made in 1986 was not valid.  So, on June 6, 2007, David placed his trust and faith in JESUS, and was Scripturally baptized at Circle Drive.

David faithfully attended and served in our church though these years.  He worked in the bus ministry, Awana, and Vacation Bible School.  Although he could not speak nor hear, he did not let it deter him.  He lived his life for CHRIST and made a difference in our church's ministry.  He was loved by our entire church family.  David blessed us with his commitment to JESUS and he inspired us by his faithful service.

Visitation will be held Monday night, July 17 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Shrine of Remembrance.  David Raque's celebration of life service will be held at our church, Circle Drive Baptist, on Tuesday morning, July 18 at 10:00 am.  After the service, everyone will be invited to the fellowship hall to enjoy refreshments, as well as visit with family and friends.
