A Tribute to Bob Karraker
Bob Karraker, a former member of Circle Drive, passed away to heaven Monday morning, July 2, at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Greg Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive.
Bob and Olive faithfully attended Circle Drive. They served the LORD in various capacities in our church's ministry. Bob was also a gifted artist. One year he and his wife presented Kathy and me with a beautiful painting of a fall scene of Maroon Bells. Another year, Kathy took my great-grandfather's cross-cut saw, and had Bob paint pictures depicting the 4 seasons on my grandparents farm. It was a surprise Christmas gift for me! The saw hangs in our bedroom, a personal reminder of some of the happiest experiences of my childhood. I so appreciate the great job Bob did!
Bob displayed a hilarious sense of humor. On more than one occasion, he provided "entertainment" at our senior adult Christmas party. One year he dressed as Tiny Tim, and entered the room strumming his ukulele, singing "Tip Toe Through the Tulips." Only Bob! I cried I laughed so hard!
In the last several years, due to his health and the long drive to Circle, Bob began attending a church very close to his home, Monument Hill Church.
Bob leaves behind a wonderful family and an enduring legacy of faith. I praise GOD for the difference he made!
Visitation will be held at Swan Law Funeral Home on Cascade Avenue from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday night, July 6. His celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 7 at 10:00 am at Monument Hill Church, which is located on the frontage road right along I-25 close to the Monument-Palmer Lake exit 161. Bob's son-in-law, Blaine Barber, and Dr. Lewis Adkison will preside.
Be sure to remember the Karraker family in prayer!
