OUR TEAM

Meet Our Team

Pastors

Dr. Mike Routt – Lead Pastor

Mike came to Redemption Hill in February 2002. He serves as a visionary leader, and is currently leading the church through a total campus relocation. In his ministry, he loves preaching, teaching, and coaching/mentoring “younger guys” in the ministry. He also greatly loves the people he serves, those who are called “Redemption Hill.” The church family affectionately calls him “Dr. Mike” because of his earned doctorate from Southern Seminary in Louisville.

Mike loves hiking in Colorado, whether it be on a trail with his wife or a 14,000+ ft. mountain with members of the 14er club from “The Hill” (he has hiked 30 of them so far). He also enjoys “diving into” a good steak, occasionally munching on a bag of potato chips, and eating at any Chick-Fil-A. He is the husband of Kathy, the father of Rachel, Holly (Scott), and LeeAnn (Jack), and is incredibly blessed to be “papa” to Daniel, CJ (Caleb Jackson), and Liam. Mike is also a HUGE fan of University of Kentucky basketball, loves to read (especially books about leadership, history and biographies), and enjoys working out at a local gym. His life’s verses are Philippians 3:13-14.

Ross Jagers – Executive/Student Pastor

Ross has been the Student Pastor at The Hill for more than 10 years. He was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating high school in '97 he attended Ouachita Baptist University where he graduated with a BA in Speech Communications. While at Ouachita he met the love of his life Natalie. After college they were married and God soon moved them to Shreveport to serve at Broadmoor Baptist Church. He served there for almost 5 years as the Middle School Student Pastor before God opened the door for them to serve at RHC in 2008.

Ross and Natalie have three kids: Colton, Rylan and Merrak. When he is not at the church he is with them. As a family they love to hike, play and hang out at home. Ross is a die-hard New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers fan. Don’t hate! He is an avid Coke drinker, cajun food eater and lover of bacon!

Ian Mavity – Worship Pastor

Ian joined the staff in January of 2018. He has attended Redemption Hill Church since he was 13 years old and was called to ministry in his early 20s. He got his B.A. in Christian Ministry at The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a Colorado native and thinks that Colorado is the best state in the U.S. Ian has a passion for music and spends a lot of his time listening and searching for new songs that could be sung at Redemption Hill Church. Ian is a huge Colorado Avalanche fan, a lover of food and going to the movies.

Christopher Davison – Associate Pastor of Ministry

Christopher joined the staff at The Hill in 2011. He has attended RHC since he was 3 years old and was called to the ministry in his late teens. Even though he has faced many difficulties due to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (which gradually causes his muscles to grow weak), his trust in the Lord has enabled him to look past his disability and serve God in ministry. He is currently involved in several teaching ministries and the student ministry; he preaches on occasion, and serves where needed.

Christopher has a B. S. in Ministry Leadership from Moody Bible Institute and recently earned a Master of Divinity degree from Piedmont International University.

Christopher is interested in computers and technology, the Denver Broncos, and likes to listen to music. He loves using his technology skills whenever needed, enjoys the opportunity to serve and grow at The Hill, and looks forward to how God will use him in the years ahead.

Ministry Staff

Dawn Stern – Preschool Director

Dawn has been involved in nursery and preschool ministry at RHC since 2001. She has been involved in children’s ministry and care since her high school days in Colorado Springs. She has also been a leader in the AWANA ministry since 2006. Her passion is children and showing them the love of Christ. Her greatest desire for the Nursery/Preschool ministry here at RHC is to love on each little one with the love of our Father while giving them a safe and comfortable environment in which to grow. She and her husband, Doug, have been married since 1997 and have 3 children. She has homeschooled for over 10 years. She has one son in college, one son in a hybrid homeschool/college prep program, and still homeschools her daughter. She loves spending time with her family, camping, trail riding, kayaking and working on home projects.

Kathy Routt – Children's Director

Kathy has been the children’s ministry director (grades 1-5) at The Hill since 2009 and has been involved in children’s ministry since she was a college student at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Her passion is that each child and preteen who enters our church will feel the presence of God, hear His voice, and become a life-long follower of Jesus! Kathy is married to Mike (yes, the pastor) and they have three amazing daughters, two son-in-laws, and three handsome grandsons and a granddaughter on the way! She enjoys mission trips, hiking, reading, Chick-Fil-A, and being with family.

Carl Stults – Adult Impact Ministries (AIM) Director

Carl was born in Oklahoma City and was immediately adopted. He is ever-so-grateful his adopted family was Christian and Southern Baptist! His mother led him to the Lord at the age of five. He was raised in Florida and Georgia (go Dawg’s) and appreciates a good use of the term “ya’ll.” Upon graduation from high school, he worked as an iron-hanger (14-stories high). Along the way, he proudly served four years as an enlisted man in the United States Air Force. He has worked for his present employer for thirty-seven years, and he looks forward to the day called retirement. Some of Carl’s favorite pastimes are reading history (the older, the better), Old Testament historical and geographical studies, missions (the actual trips), and spending time with his wife AnnaLee.

Carl joined Redemption Hill Church in 1996 and is humbled to serve as the Director of AIM Ministries. He believes Senior Adults, who have experienced much and have much to offer, are the backbone of the local church. After his retirement, Carl looks forward to having more time to spend with Redemption Hill Senior Adults, co-laboring together in service (and fun) to Jesus Christ.

Office Staff

Lori Cantwell – Administrative Assistant to Lead Pastor

Lori has worked at the church since 2008 and has been a member since 2002. She loves serving the people of Redemption Hill Church. When she is not at work she likes to go on long hikes/walks with her husband and spend time with her family.

Together they were in ministry for over 35 years in various churches around the country. She is also the Worship Administrative Assistant at FEFC, serving on the praise team and in the music office. Sue has five children, four grandchildren, and one Apricot Westiepoo named Shiloh. Her oldest Son, Zachary, is now the Worship Pastor at FEFC, following in dad’s footsteps! One of her favorite verses for this time in her life is Romans 12:12, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Sue loves all kinds of music, sailing, any kind of craft and traveling to see her family.

Jessica Husted – Education and Media Assistant

Jessica has been attending Redemption Hill since she was seven years old. She joined our team at the Hill in 2017. She has a heart for serving God and his church and is especially zealous about the youth and children's ministries. Jessica has been a staffer at Glorieta Fuge Camps, helping lead kids to Christ. In her spare time she enjoys diving deeper into God’s word, hiking, and spending time with her dog Chiquita Banana along with her family and friends.
